The Tripartite Leadership

The Tripartite Leadership is composed of Isabelle Malhamé (she/her/elle), Rohan D’Souza (he/him/il), and the Canadian Perinatal Programs Coalition (represented by Robert Finch [he/him/il]). They each bring their unique lived and professional expertise to co-lead the Hub and foster an innovative, inclusive, and equitable environment.

The GEM Hub Team

Behind the scenes, Kate Mazzietti (she/her/elle) and Donalee Mc Intyre (she/her/elle) are Project Managers who manage the day to day responsibilities of the Hub and co-facilitate the Working Groups.

As the main contacts, they encourage all to reach out for any questions, feedback, or inquiries.

You can reach them through email here.

The Working Groups

Working Groups are key to advancing the work of the Hub and to carrying out knowledge mobilization activities. Each group is dedicated to a specific activity and includes at least one member from the Tripartite Leadership, one from The GEM Hub Team, Hub Members, and, when needed, external collaborators with specialized expertise.

The Advisory Sharing Circle

The Advisory Sharing Circle consists of 15-20 people, including the Tripartite Leadership, TheGEM Hub Team, and Hub members, for a diverse group integrating various perspectives. The Advisory Sharing Circle serves three main purposes:

  1. Advising Working Groups on the co-creation of knowledge mobilization activities.

  2. Making recommendations to ensure that the listed and related principles are consistently followed across activities of the Hub:

    • EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion)

    • OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession)

    • EGAP (Engagement, Governance, Access, and Protection)

  3. Making recommendations to ensure that activities of the Hub centre on the voices of persons with lived experience of pregnancy (including near-miss events).

Are we Looking for New Members?

Yes! We regularly welcome new members to the Hub, whether they find us independently or are referred by our network. We also actively encourage prospective members to join the Working Groups and the Advisory Sharing Circle.

If you're interested in joining, connect with us.

Who is in the Hub?

Our membership is composed of over 80 individuals, including persons with lived experience of pregnancy, their family and support people, healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers. Together, we form The GEM Hub Community.

Within the Hub, four sub-groups have different roles and responsibilities: the Tripartite Leadership, the GEM Hub Team, the Working Groups, and the Advisory Sharing Circle. Shown in the visual representation of The GEM Hub, the design of this community creates an environment that fosters truly collaborative experiences.

What Function Does Each Sub-Group Serve?

Figure 1. Organogram of the Hub community

The Working Groups and the Advisory Sharing Circle incorporate insights from diverse perspectives and value multiple forms of knowledge (i.e., experiential, cultural or spiritual, and mainstream or academic knowledge). Working Groups receive guidance from the Advisory Sharing Circle and the wider GEM Hub Community throughout their work. The Hub community as a whole remains accountable to the Public.
