Group Norms for Working Together

To ensure that our values are embodied across all activities of the Hub, we have collaboratively developed a document summarizing group norms (or guidelines) for working together. These group norms set clear expectations for facilitators and participants in activities, and they help to foster an environment where people feel valued and respected.

While these guidelines are specific to The GEM Hub, we share them as a resource for academic institutions, communities, groups, and organizations engaging in knowledge mobilization, co-creation, and collaborative work involving multi-sector groups.

Terms of Reference for the Advisory Sharing Circle

This comprehensive framework outlines the roles, responsibilities, and governance structure of the Advisory Sharing Circle. This document is also shared as a resource for academic institutions, communities, groups, and organizations engaging in collaborative work.

Appreciation Payment Guidelines

We express gratitude and recognize the various contributions, time, and expertise of persons with lived experience of pregnancy, their family and support people, who are not professional academics. Appreciation payment guidelines of the Hub build on the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Supporting Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) principles.

We Value Every Voice

Given the size of our community, it was essential to establish a thoughtful governance process reflecting core values of understanding, acceptance, trust, self-awareness, education, communication, and relationship building. Our approach builds on the Valuing All Voices framework developed by a research team in Canada.
